Respect
Nature from the Heart
For us, the relationship between God,
Nature, and human beings is one of perpetual oneness. Our sages, Vedas, and
Upanishads have taught us to see Mother Nature with reverence. In the ancient
days, there was no need for any initiative to protect the environment since
conserving nature was a part of worshipping God.
In
fact, it was an integral part of life. Apart from worshiping God, people used
to worship Nature as no different from God and when you see God in Nature, how
can you pollute it? Such were the values of the ancient people and they must be
reawakened in the modern world.
Loving
Mother Nature Deeply
Value of respecting and protecting nature
must come from the heart. It should be an act of unconditional love. When people
will develop love & compassion towards rivers, trees, birds, vines,
forests, animals, mountains, rivers, oceans, and all the rest of Nature, there
will be a revival in the environmental health naturally.
In India, thankfully, we love nature as a
friend and mother since ancient times. Earth is the mother and the sky is the
father. We worship them. Our country inculcates the value of universal
brotherhood in everyone. Lord Krishna has also given a message to befriend
nature.
We try to perform such deeds that can bring
stability to nature. While the Western World wants to know everything about
flowers by dissecting them we just love and revere them, by offering them at
the feet of God. The western world talks about gaining victory over nature, but
our country sees nature as a mother and you cannot get victory over your
mother. You respect your mother and protect her.
And in order to protect their mother, Her
children do everything.
India,
the Land of Ayurveda
We are one with the movement of this entire
cosmos and we cannot get separate from it. That’s why, we treat everything with
respect, whether they are trees, rivers, animals or birds; every part of nature
is revered.
Further, India has given birth to Ayurveda,
the science to enhance the longevity of human beings. And every substance used
by Ayurveda to boost human health is sourced from nature only. Every part of
nature has been used, keeping in mind its protection and well-being.
We use Indian lilac (Neem) and Acacia
(Babool) to clean teeth. We plant a kitchen garden and grow medicinal plants in
it, like Holy Basil, Aloe Vera, Coriander, Mint, etc. They all are full of
medicinal properties having certain ingredients that strengthen the body. They
destroy harmful bacteria and toxins.
Protect
Nature through Words & Deeds
In our country we reap endless resources
from nature. Many of the Hindu rituals
and festivities express gratefulness towards nature. Worshipping trees and The
Sun God, offering seeds and grains to birds, and many more.
Also, when one procures a new home or piece
of land it is worshipped using the five elements of nature. Needless to say,
this motherland respects nature from the heart. That is not enough and now it
is time to invest more time and material towards the protection of this sacred
earth. It is time to spread awareness about the urgent need to protect and
conserve Mother Nature. Your words and
actions must reflect bountiful respect for The Earth and Nature.
Happy Earth Day!
