The Mind is a Mirror!
You need to feel the presence of
God in your heart for living a blessed life. This realization is possible only
if your mind is pure. But your mind is a warehouse of diverse thoughts,
enabling various desires. Naturally, it is also full of emotions, some of which
are pure and some impure. Pure emotions are kindness, love, and conscience,
among many whereas impure ones are anger, greed, violence, dishonesty etc.
You can feel the presence of God
within when the pure emotions outshine the impure ones and then your mind
reflects purer emotions like a mirror. And to have such a mind you should learn
how to control it. The technique is taught by Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita
when God wants Arjun to walk the Path of Truthfulness.
As You Sow, So Shall You Reap
By accepting truth as a way of
life and following the path of truthfulness, ordinary human beings can purify
their lives and their onward spiritual journey. Unfortunately, man brings chaos
into his life through his own deeds and then laments about the negative after
effects. The mind is like a mirror reflecting what it is thinking. As you sow,
you shall reap.
Understand that people cast the
web of disquiet in their own lives. They want to hurt others with mind, words
and deeds and by doing this they are sowing the seeds of unrest for themselves.
When you perform bad deeds, they result in bad outcomes and when you think
badly about someone, that also brings misfortune. Such a thought process taints
the mirror of your mind and your soul as well. Imagine that you are committing
a crime. There are great possibilities that it will manifest for real. Let the
thought of jealousy creep in your mind for a while and then there is a strong
possibility that you’ll receive similar vibes from someone too. This is because
negative energies revolve in your mind and they can control it very easily.
These negativities within reflect externally in your behaviour and character.
Remove them now!
Make your Mind a Clean Mirror
Remember that your deeds and your
thought processes never leave you. They stay with you forever. And these Karmas
return to you in the form of outcomes. But still you complain- why such a
bitter fruit? You feel jealous when someone progresses in life and you get
angry when someone blocks your path to success. This leads to stronger feelings
of anger in your mind.
That anger will be released on
someone in the form of your frustration. And eventually you will also attract
the fruits of your own anger. You reap
the fruits of immoral thoughts as well. They never leave you.
Therefore, keep yourself pure
from within and endeavour to make your mind a clean mirror. The mind will
reflect whatever emotions and thoughts that prevail within. Until your mind
shines clean like a mirror, you cannot find purity, softness and peace within
you. You can clean your mind through mindfulness, meditation, visualization
techniques, self-reflections, deep breathing and devotion to God.
Practice them and after a while
you’ll find your mind has overcome all negative emotions, turning itself into a
clean mirror and thereby you move on the path towards God realization.
