Moving Towards a Stronger ‘Inner’ Republic
The Indian
Constitution is at the centre of our Republic Day celebrations. The entire
country celebrates the significance of this book on Republic Day as it guides
people on the path of an ideal life so that everyone can become a good citizen.
Certainly, India
is a strong republic because its citizens follow the guiding principles of the
constitution. People have sustained the Constitutional spirit in their hearts
for a long time and it is no less than a great achievement.
Yet along with
upholding the constitutional values, each individual should turn inward as well
in his personal life. It will help in developing a stronger ‘inner republic’;
an inner world beaming with moral values and personal ethics that maintains the
core value of the soul, i.e. purity & spirituality.
Choosing the Right Path of Action
As a pure soul,
everyone should see the preservation of their inner purity as the most
fundamental moral obligation. All are free to set their own goals or choose
their own paths of action. But it should be done keeping in mind the higher
goals of self-development.
The inner world
of a majority of people, however, is shackled in the menace of jealousy,
insecurity, anger, lassitude, low spirit, and other kinds of inner darkness.
These impure attributes weaken the true spirit of the inner soul.
So, it is your
individual responsibility to remove such weaknesses. It can be rectified with a
strong and spiritual mindset.
Remove Bondage at the Soul Level through Personal
Ethics
Understand that
inner impurities are like the bondage for your soul hampering its natural
shine. You can become free of any bondage at the soul level by following your
soul’s commands. Listen to those commands through self-awakening.
Listen to your
inner voice that repeatedly tells you to grow in life in all aspects by
adhering to personal ethics. Without adhering to ethics no one can become a
strong individual: someone who is pure from heart, contented and who is also
contributing towards the good of the country.
Personal ethics,
undoubtedly, help you through difficult situations in life enabling you to take
the right decisions during predicaments. So, develop a clear personal ethics
statement for yourself outlining your moral values.
Always try to
become a person of integrity, selflessness, honesty, empathy, and self-respect
and rule upon your negative emotions. It will give a good turn to your life
making it virtuous.
Living a Virtuous Life
Just like water
and food, you also feed yourself with thoughts and emotions. Without having a
pure self, anything that flows through you- your thoughts or emotions- would be
cloudy. So, try to develop a pure self. Never forget the spiritual truth that
you are a pure soul, a rare child of God, and you have received a great
inheritance from God in the form of virtues. Uphold those virtues in your
day-to-day life and make a habit of living a virtuous life.
A righteous life motivates you to act with a higher purpose and devotion. Whatever actions you take, take them selflessly without any expectations. And when your actions are guided by your personal ethics, you start moving towards a stronger ‘inner republic’ naturally that always guides you on the path of a beautiful and contented life.
