Freedom: Have We Lost It after 72 Years of Independence?

Many have tried to understand the purpose of life. Many have tried to define it in their own way. While many more have preached what is life all about. All these definitions, dictums and doings might deviate from each other on the surface level. But if you look at it from a higher perspective, you will find one thing common among all. It is the quest to attain freedom. We can most certainly say that anything that is caged is in the state of suffering. These suffering of the body, mind, heart, and soul, of humanity, creates a massive sphere of negative energy. Hence, we must get rid of everything that cages our inner-self, thereby creating social evils in society.

There is just one question that you need to ask yourself, - ''who cages you?'' You will find that at the bottom of everything, the answer is 'YOU.'  Believe it or not, you are your greatest enemy. You indeed came into this world with certain karmic bondages and inner bindings, but you do little to set it right.

I firmly believe that the natural propensity of all humans is towards the light. Nobody is born evil. It is the circumstances that make a person do terrible things. However, let’s set the extreme things aside, and talk about the average human beings for the time being. Humans in the 21st century has become so busy that they hardly have time to be humane. They are caged in their own little world and are dwindling on a plane that neither lets them have a peek into their soul nor does it allow them to see what beauty this world holds! The generation that we are bringing up is being trained to kill every little desire on a daily basis and cage all their wishes. Their souls have become prisoners in their own bodies! And this blocks one's spiritual as well as societal progress. Sure, it gives enough money. But does it give joy, will it bring peace, and most importantly, will it make you a better human being? NO, it won't. Prospering should not be only on the material plane; you should thrive a step each day towards the higher realm and on the spiritual domain as well. The Almighty created us to live as one in society. The competition was never a part of his grand scheme. By bringing in meaningless competition, we have invited our own doom.

Hence, shun everything that hinders you. On this independence day let’s take a pledge to free the society from prejudices. Don't be a part of the meaningless competition. Your time on this planet is limited in this life. Therefore, free your spirit and soul from the domain of prejudices, jealousy, and all other forms of negativity. Feed your soul with good deeds. Don't kill your harmless wishes, and you shall live a prosperous life in the truest sense possible.
